I'll dominate 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.
Ex twice unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami venue on 19 December.
Boxer's Attitude
"I'm going to break his face and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, said.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.
"I intend to seriously aim to injure him. That's my goal."
Civil Exchange
In spite of those words, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically famous for his theatrics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul rather criticized ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.
Targeting Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.
Paul's Background
Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.
Financial Success
However, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's largest money-making draws, frequently receiving massive paydays.
Prediction and Belief
The 28-year-old anticipated a stoppage in rounds four or five and claimed he would derail the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.
"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul said.
Size Disparity
As both boxers engaged in the traditional stare-down, with their physical disparity evident, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is actually going ahead.
